Hi Arlen - are you a Type 2 diabetic - or perhaps like Diabetic_Iz_Me (Cherise Shockley) a LADA?

I know for myself, as a Type 1 diabetic - as far as diabetic nutritional supplements go - I don't touch them with a 10 foot pole - they tend to be too expensive - and like Cherise says - I'd rather have a good meal if I'm going to blow 30-40 grams of carbs on a meal.

I very rarely drink milk - only cream in my coffee (has little effect on my blood glucose or stimulation - but every diabetic is different of course). I drink coffee for the taste - not for the buzz - can go for a days without it - and don't become cranky Anna

As far as red meats - I have a vary varied diet - can go for days without animal protein - and just eat vegetarian - do prefer chicken / pork when $$$'s allow it. I tend to eat what's on sale - so not eating the same thing every day / week like clock work.

Hello! I personally stay away from products like glucerna. The reason being is they taste nasty and they are high in carbohydrates. I am a person who doesn't believe in drinking my carbs. I would rather eat a 30-40 carb meal rather than drinking it. I haven't tried their cereal or bars, no opinion on that. I do know a few people who use diabetic nutritional supplements, they love them. It depends on the person. If you decide to use their products please let me know what you think. I am curious.

[p]I'm wondering what people think about diabetic nutritional supplements like Glucerna- which are the best in terms of taste and consistency? And advice?[/p]
