Great update on the t:slim - and the recent panic that went thru' the D-OC when the company stated that there would be no return policy. Apparently, according to Bernard Farrell from Diabetes Daily - he paid them a visit when he was out in California - and got some good cold hard facts - that will make potential clients (USA only) breath a sigh of relief. It's still in it's infancy as Bernard points out. To read more of his interview and personal views - check out his blog post at this link .

Here is something I never asked when inquiring into this new pump - which is available to Americans at present.[br][br]According to Michael Hoskins from Diabetes Mine - it is BUYER BEWARE with the purchase of this pump! You cannot return it back to them - unlike other insulin pump companies that are out there.[br][br]So, I'm rethinking my excitement over this pump - sad to say - and am sure others are feeling the same way. Please, George Michael, my current Animas 2020 pump, without any warranty, please last longer then the last two pumps I've had over the 4 years - that had s/w problems - I can't afford another pump for at least a few years.[br][br]To read more of Michael's column - go to the following link - http://www.diabetesmine.com/2012/06/buyers-beware-tandem-says-no-returns-on-tslim.html

I am so excited to see that this pump is finally out on the market (in the USA only - hopefully Canada approves it one day for Canadians to purchase). I've been watching it's development over the years with anticipation (yes - I love new medical gadgets that will help me attain perfection in my control of diabetes).[br][br]All I can say is - WOW - very slim design - holds 300 units of insulin - colour touch screen the size of a credit card - very Applish design in my eyes - it's just soooo cool (can you tell how excited I am).[br][br]More information is available online at www.TandemDiabetes.com, or by calling 1-877-801-6901. Tandem's sale team is available Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. PDT to accept orders.[br][br]If you want to get a little preview of the pump - go to the following video link - http://medgadget.com/2012/06/tandem-tslim-touchscreen-insulin-pump-now-on-sale.html[br][br][br][p=text-align: center;][/p][br]UPDATE: Spoke with Enid at Tandem - and the cost of the pump (without insurance) is $4,500 USD. She found that a tough question to answer - since most Americans go directly thru' their insurance - and don't know the actual cost of what they are using. I told her I've often noticed this with Americans - that they have no clue as to what they pay for their medical health - if they compare the actual cost of what they use - over what they pay in insurance. I've been put on the mailing list for updates on their insulin pump products - and hopefully it'll be available for purchase outside of USA in the near future. [br]
