I know there had been discussion awhile back - either here in the forums or at another discussion area for diabetes I belong to - saying that Steve Jobs might be able to reinvent the insulin pump and make it even better then it is today (as he'd probably wear one if he became insulin dependent).

Not pleasant what he is going thru' at the moment tho' - sigh.

Boy.....what an emotionally difficult time it must be for Jobs. Apple sales are great, and now they are poised to take over the cell phone market. He probably will have no problem "counting carbs" and will be a great "patient" since he is the genuis of one of the greatest companies ever.

Diabetes is likely adding to Apple founder and product genius Steve Jobs' woes. While Apple is notoriously tight-lipped, they recently announced that Jobs has had a liver transplant due to a rare form of pancreatic cancer, called an islet cell neuroendocrine tumor. This article ( read here: http://news.aol.com/article/jobs-had-liver/535743 ) describes how “patients who have part or all of their pancreas removed usually get diabetes, which is treated with medication”. Since it’s likely that Jobs has gotten part of his pancreas removed, this would mean Type 1 diabetes, wouldn’t it? Let’s hope that Jobs stays healthy and is on the road to recovery!
