Diabetes Snapshots

By: Diabetic_Iz_Me

I was diagnosed with Type 1.5/LADA in June of 2004.  The first 3 years of my diabetic life I was on glipizide and metformin.  I switched to insulin in January 2008.  I decided to switch from MDI's (mutiple daily injections) to the Omnipod insulin delievery system.  In May 2008, I started pumping insulin and blogging about diabetes.  I am a featured blogger at DiabetesDaily.com.  I am also very active in the Diabetes Online Community.

Karen (Bitter-Sweet Diabetes Blog) is the brains behind "Diabetes Blog" week.  I am trying to play catch up because life sometimes grabs me by the pancreas, turns my world upside down and then I lose my thought process.  So, here is the subject for Day 6 of diabetes blog week:

Inspired by the Diabetes 365 project, lets snap a few d-related pictures to share today. Post as many or as few as you'd like. Be creative! Please feel free to blog your thoughts on or explanations of your pictures. Our leave out the written words and let the pictures speak for themselves.

Diabetes brought many changes in my life.

Cherise - Ouch on the site gusher!  I think I only had one that bad when I was using the CGMS (Continuous Glucose Monitor System).  I think that's why I eventually chickened out of using it.  Now, I never had a camera around for those occassions tho', my only reaction was WTF, running off to get paper towels to soak up the blood (and I could have tested my BG (blood sugar) at the same time with my blood meter ).

Ahhh, diabetes - it really felt good sharing all our stories last week in the Diabetes Blog Week - I actually am missing it this week!

I think our next mission should be --- GET ALL OF THE 130+ DIABETIC BLOGGERS TOGETHER.   Should I start working on seeing what kind of deal I could get for us on a cruise ship??? Huh? Huh? Huh?
