Okay - I think in the beginning I thought of the Easter Bunny as looking like the character from Donnie Darko - but I'm thinking of changing my mind of that vision now.
Easter Sunday arrived - hippity hop, hippity hop - I remembered that I had hidden a few more Easter goodies (we already consumed the Easter Egg "designer" jelly beans the day before). For some reason - I think what I should be calling "evil" is my insulin pump - since I don't think I've ever maintained such level BG's before with munching away on sweet treats that most diabetics would run to the hills screaming - "no, no, no!!!!". So, off I went to bring out Mr. Toffee and Mr. Fluffy chocolate bunnies. I religiously broke off an ear from Mr. Fluffy (white "chocolate") - weighed out the portion - did the calculations of how many carbs for the weight of the chocolate. This took a few extra minutes of drooling as I got the formula abit wrong - but in the end and after a few head banging episodes (I was never good at math at school) - BINGO - results. So, abit of insulin (bolus) and I ate Mr. Fluffy's ear. Yummy. Then I had abit of Mr. Toffee's ear - and winged it with the calculations as I seem to be getting the hand of how much to break off. Double yummy.
Anyway, I am glad to say that with some of the bits of the two nice bunnies - my BG's stayed at pretty even keel of around 5 mmol/L (90 mg/dL) - and waking up this morning - I was slightly lower then I like to be at 3.2 mmol/L (57 mg/dL) - but abit of espresso along with some toast / jam / slice of cheese - I'm all set for the day.
Now, the next question is - to keep myself busy enough - so I don't hear Mr. Toffee and Mr. Fluffy calling me to nibble on another part of them. I must be good - and wait until Mike gets home from work. Wish me luck!
