During the Ice Storm in January 1998 where we lived for a week at the airport in the basement of my husbands workplace in Montreal (we were lucky - we only lost power for one week - some were without power for a month or more). I worked on a baby quilt by hand for my friends son Josh to pass the time - and not worry so much. He's presently VERY involved in minor league hockey and hoping to one day play for the NHL.
A McGill University study involving 36 Mum's has revealed how the power outage affected their fetuses DNA. They are now teenagers are more susceptible to develop asthma, diabetes or obesity.
His Mum inform when she saw my post on Facebook - that he's now taking a daily inhaler plus when playing hockey - he uses a rescue inhaler!!!
