Incase you missed my forum post last fall in the CGMS study about this device ... here it is in a nutshell ...
The FreeStyle Libre system involves a 14-day sensor that is inserted on the upper arm and a separate touchscreen reader device. When the reader device is swiped close to the sensor, the sensor transmits both an instantaneous glucose reading, trend, and an 8-hour history. No vampire prick is required for calibration, so you can dose with insulin based on it's readings (except when you are in hypo - low blood sugar range, or when your symptoms don't match what the reading is).
For some reason, I am only seeing this clinical study post now (and I'm on the list for these) - so hopefully it's not to late for any of you who are interested (and I know a few are) to apply - since the end date for the study is stating March 2015 ... but the page still shows that it's recruiting.
To see if your eligible - go to the following link - again - again this is for residents of USA only (for Canadians - I've been told by a Quebec endo - that it was supposed to be released in 2015 in Canada).
