  • Brown Rice found to help Reduce Risk of Diabetes
A new study has recently found that brown rice helps to reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. This is due to the fact that, "unrefined grains have more nutrients and fiber, which slow the rush of sugar into the bloodstream." Replacing just a few servings of white rice each week with brown rice can even have a positive impact on people.

For more information about this study, please go to...

I tend to eat more brown rice then white rice because it tastes better as well as making my blood sugar not spike up so much!

I use a rice from California that is very nutty (http://www.lundberg.com/), and because it's abit more expensive then regular brown rice, I only use about 1/3 of the amount.  The rest of the 1 cup measure is just regular brown rice.  It makes the 1/2 cup serving of rice I have on my plate seem like more!  Though I usually top it up abit, and it doesn't have any ill effects on my blood sugars a few hours later.

My favourite ones when I can find it here in Canada is the Wild Blend and Black Japonica (I managed to get some of these on sale in the States last time I was there).
