Another GREAT testing meter by FreeStyle! The FreeStyle Lite has all the features of the FreeStyle Flash, PLUS you no longer have to enter the code number for your strips! Which makes testing your blood sugar even faster and more convenient. It's wonderfully compact and fits easily in handbags, pockets, or even a small clutch! And the light up screen and test strip port light allow you to test anywhere, anytime! I've been using this machine as an upgrade from the Flash for the past few months now, and have yet to experience ANY test strip or meter errors. The Freestyle test strips are by far the best requiring the least amount of blood, and providing super-fast accurate results. I highly recommend the FreeStyle Lite.

This was a very good meter. You only have to put a small amount of blood on the strip, so you are not poking yourself all over just to get more blood. It is especially good if you prefer alternate site testing. It also has a backlight and test strip portlight, so you are not struggling to see the blood sample or number in a dimly lit area or place. Definitely convenient if you are at a movie theater! Plus, the test strips do not have to be coded, which is an added bonus. All in all, great product!

I have been using the Freestyle lite meter fort for several years. I have had diabetes for 43 years and have used blood glucose meters since they first came out. After trying many meters I chose the Freestyle lite because it uses the smallest drop of blood of any meter. I have trouble getting enough blood and I am always amazed how small a drop this meter uses. If you do not get enough blood the first time you have an additional minute to get more blood. I also like to small size of this meter. It is one of the smallest meters out there. This meter fits in a small woman's handbag and the lancet is also very small. The display is large enough to read and I like the fact that the blood glucose results appears in 5 seconds. I would prefer if the strips were individually wrapped in foil as are the precision strips. I find the vial of strips large and awkward. There is no coding for this meter, which makes it easy to use when opening a vial of strips for the first time. This meter has a lot of time saving features. However, I am not sure if this is the most accurate meter on the market as to true blood glucose readings.

I have been using the FreeStyle monitors for the past 5 years - and only recently switched to the Lite model which you do not have to code. What I love about the FreeStyle monitors - they all use a very snakk drop of blood compared to other brands on the market. This is very important to me as I test alot. I also test on my forearm - to give my fingers a break - and with the small amount of blood required - it works every time for me unlike other meters I had used in the past. Also, if you don't have enough blood (very rare with this meter when I use it) - you have I believe 1 minute to put more blood on the strip. Hope this helps in your decision of which meter to pick to help you towards successful control of your health!
